About ClassOf5

What is ClassOf5 Academy?

ClassOf5 Academy gives families live, tutor-led classes online, in small groups of no more than five learners. We serve families in North America and in the UK and Europe, from Grade 1 to Grade 12. ClassOf5 is an educational initiative of NovaPoint Global Inc. You can read more on our Methodology page.

How does a class work?

Every lesson is live and lasts 60 minutes. Learners meet twice a week in an interactive virtual classroom with a shared digital whiteboard. The tutor teaches, listens and responds to each learner, so nobody is lost in a crowd. Robotics & Coding is the one exception: it is a single combined 60-minute class each week. See how it works, step by step.

Why only five learners per class?

A group of five means every child is seen and heard. Tutors notice who is stuck and who is ready for more, and each learner gets direct feedback in every lesson. Five is the most we allow in any class.

When do classes start?

Our first classes begin on Monday 11 January 2027. You can already choose your plan and times on the Pricing page.

Are the classes live or pre-recorded?

They are live. Your child learns with a real tutor and a small group, and can ask questions as they go.

Who is ClassOf5 for?

Families with children in Grades 1 to 12 (UK Years 2 to 13) who live in North America or in the UK and Europe. Our levels, times and prices are shown for those regions. If you live somewhere else, please contact us and we will tell you what is possible.

What does my child need to join a class?

A computer or tablet with a stable internet connection, a working microphone and camera, and a quiet place to learn. Classes run in your browser in our virtual classroom.

What curriculum do you teach?

Our lessons draw on the strongest fundamentals from curricula across Africa, the Caribbean, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. Where two systems cover a topic, we teach to the higher standard. Science modules end with exam-style practice matched to the learner’s own country, such as GCSE and A-Level in the UK. See The curriculum for Math, English and Science.

Levels and grades

What are your levels?
There are six levels, with two grades in each:
  • Alpha: Grades 1–2, ages 6–7 (UK Years 2–3)
  • Beta: Grades 3–4, ages 8–9 (UK Years 4–5)
  • Gamma: Grades 5–6, ages 10–11 (UK Years 6–7)
  • Delta: Grades 7–8, ages 12–13 (UK Years 8–9)
  • Sigma: Grades 9–10, ages 14–16 (UK Years 10–11)
  • Omega: Grades 11–12, ages 16–18 (UK Years 12–13)
Browse every grade and its topics on the Levels section of the Methodology page.
Which level is right for my child?

Learners join the level that matches their grade. In the UK and Europe, add 1 to the Year number to get the grade (for example, Year 7 is Grade 6, which is Gamma). The Contact page has a short tool that finds your child’s level from their grade and country. Once you know the level, choose a plan on the Pricing page.

My child is working ahead of, or behind, their grade. What should I do?

Please talk to us before you choose. We will help you decide which level fits your child best. Use the Contact page and tell us a little about where your child is today.

What will my child learn in each grade?

Each grade page lists the Math, English and Science topics covered, for example place value and phonics in Grade 1, or ratio and persuasive writing in Grade 5. Open any level on the Methodology page and choose a grade to see its topics.

Subjects and schedule

Which subjects can my child study?
  • Alpha to Delta (Grades 1–8): Math, English and Science.
  • Sigma and Omega (Grades 9–12): Math, Chemistry, Physics, and Robotics & Coding.
Through Private 1-On-1 we also offer Biology and English essay & exam writing for Grades 9–12, and languages (French, Yoruba and Igbo, plus English conversation practice). Availability is confirmed when you enquire.
How many lessons are there each week?

Math, English, Science, Chemistry and Physics run two 60-minute live classes a week. Robotics & Coding is one combined 60-minute class a week, and you choose one available session when you build your plan.

Can my child take two subjects?

Yes. Choose a Pair plan (Standard Pair, Hybrid Pair or Flex Pair) and pick two different subjects. Each subject has its own class, and two classes never overlap. Compare the plans on the Pricing page.

What days and times are classes?

Classes are held at set weekly times, mostly in the evening, with weekend options. The Pricing page shows the exact times for your child’s level and subject, for the North America or UK and Europe timetable.

Are class times the same wherever I live?

Yes. The times on the Pricing page are the class times for your region (the North America timetable or the UK and Europe timetable), and they do not change depending on where you view the page. Registration asks for your country, so we know where you are. We serve North America and the UK and Europe.

Can I pick any time I like?

No. Families choose from the approved recurring times shown for each subject and level. This is how we keep classes small and consistent. If you need a time that is not shown, tell us on the Contact page and we will see what we can do.

Pricing and plans

How much does it cost?
Plans are billed monthly, in Canadian dollars (CAD):
  • Standard Focus: CA$69 (one subject, Standard time)
  • Flex Focus: CA$99 (one subject, Flex time)
  • Standard Pair: CA$119 (two subjects, both Standard)
  • Hybrid Pair: CA$149 (one Standard subject and one Flex subject)
  • Flex Pair: CA$169 (two subjects, both Flex)
Build your own on the Pricing page.
What is the difference between Standard and Flex?

Standard is the published class time for a subject and is the most affordable. Flex gives you a wider choice of approved recurring times, and includes one schedule transfer a month (see the rescheduling questions below). Hybrid lets you take one subject on Standard and the other on Flex. Flex is not unlimited custom scheduling: you choose from the times shown.

Why is the price shown in my own currency?

The Pricing page shows an estimate in your local currency, rounded up to the next whole number, so you can compare easily. Plans are priced and billed in Canadian dollars, so your bank’s exchange rate applies when you pay.

How much is Private 1-On-1?

Private 1-On-1 is individual tutoring, priced per learner, per month: CA$149 for one weekly session or CA$269 for two. Extra subjects or siblings are quoted on enquiry. See Private 1-On-1.

Are there discounts for siblings?

For small-group plans, please ask us on the Contact page and we will tell you what is available. For Private 1-On-1, siblings are quoted on enquiry.

How do I pay?

Choose your plan and times on the Pricing page, then select Book a Class. Payment is taken securely on the booking page, monthly, in Canadian dollars. If you have questions first, use Continue to Contact Us instead.

Booking and enrolling

How do I enrol my child?
  1. Find your child’s level on the Methodology page.
  2. Open the Pricing page and choose a plan, the subject or subjects, and the class times.
  3. Select Book a Class to register and pay securely, or contact us first if you have questions.
What if the time I want is full?

Each class holds five learners at most, so a time can fill up. When that happens, the Pricing page will show it as full and offer other times that are still open. We open more Flex times when there is demand, so please tell us if the time you need is not available.

Can I ask questions before I commit?

Yes, ask us anything before you book. Use the Contact page, the Help Centre button at the bottom right of every page, or email info@classof5.com.

How do I log in?

Use the Student & Parent Login button at the top of any page.

Rescheduling and missed classes

Can I change my class time?

It depends on your plan. Flex plans include one schedule transfer a month, into another active section of the same subject and level, as long as a seat is open. It does not create a new one-off lesson. Standard times are fixed, so a transfer is not part of those plans. If your family’s schedule changes, contact us and we will see what is possible.

What if there is no seat in the section I want to move to?

Then the normal makeup process applies. Please contact us and we will explain the options for your child’s subject and level.

What if my child misses a class?

Please let us know as early as you can, using the Contact page or by emailing info@classof5.com. We will explain the makeup options for your child’s class. Parents also receive weekly progress logs and lesson recordings, as described on our home page, so nothing is lost.

What if you need to change a tutor or a time?

Occasionally we may need to change a tutor or a time. We will tell you in advance whenever we can. See our Terms of Service.

Cancellations and refunds

Can I cancel and get a refund?

Yes, if the learner has not attended any class yet, you may cancel your enrolment and receive a full refund of the amount you paid. Email info@classof5.com with the learner’s name and the email used to book. Once the learner has attended a class, fees already paid are not refundable. The full wording is in our Terms of Service.

Progress and parent visibility

How will I know how my child is doing?

Parent visibility is at the heart of ClassOf5. Parents receive a weekly progress log, so you can see what was taught and how your child is doing. See step 4 of how it works.

Do you offer lesson recordings?

Our home page and Methodology page describe weekly progress logs and lesson recordings for parents. If you have a question about how recordings are handled, please ask us and we will answer.

Our tutors

Who teaches the classes?

Our tutors are selected after reviewing their application, a subject check and a setup check, and each one teaches small groups of five or fewer learners. You can read how tutors are chosen on the Become a Tutor page.

How can I become a ClassOf5 tutor?

Apply on the Become a Tutor page. You will be asked for your subjects, availability and a resume. Tutors teach online in the evenings and on weekends.

Privacy and safety

How do you use my family’s information?

We collect only what we need to reply to your enquiry and place a learner in the right class, and we collect a child’s details only from a parent or guardian. We do not sell personal information. Read our Privacy Policy for details.

Can families record classes?

No. Classes may not be recorded or shared without our written permission. See our Terms of Service.
